The "A" in a/s/l

I was probably about 11 when the internet started getting popular. Chat rooms were the 'cool' thing to do, and when you first got into one, other chatters would often ask "a/s/l?" meaning "age/sex/location." Creepy, I know! Luckily, I knew at a young age not to tell the truth to any chat room friends. I was probably a 30 year old female from California more often than not!

As I look for my new "bff," age is a big factor is who I am looking toward. The University of Findlay is located about a mile and a half from our apartment, but I'm not sure that I really have much in common with a college junior anymore! (That time seems to long ago!) However- I am horrible at judging age! How do I find someone else in their mid-20's when I would probably judge my friends' ages as anywhere from 19-35?!

I started just looking for wedding rings. Not that I need friends w/ big rocks on their left ring fingers- I don't! In fact, I know enough good single guys that it probably wouldn't hurt to have another single gal pal! But since most girls don't get married younger than 23 (most- not all!) I figured that would be a good way not to judge.

So now I am on the hunt for a girl w/ a band on her hand! Hmmmm this is a weird start, but I'm just narrowing down the search!

Current Status :)

Well, most of you know, I moved to Findlay in September. I left behind my best friends in Columbus & got even farther away from the ones in Pennsylvania. I am married to a pretty awesome guy, but I am a girly girl, and he's a manly man! So I need a little bit of estrogen to balance out my life in Findlay.

I have always had a strong group of girlfriends! I like to shop, sure, but I also like to paint my nails, flip through magazines, & watch lots of "chick flicks." And I'd like to keep doing that stuff with a girl- and not make my hubby Jeff my female companion in the process!

I have a built-in friend in Findlay, Mrs. T. She's one of my husband's best friends, and I've known her for years now. We get along well, and we are both looking to expand our friend circle. She has gotten involved in community theater in Findlay (she's a drama queen- in a good way!) but I don't have a special "skill" to jump into- yet!

So this blog is detailing how to make friends in a new town! It's a hard thing to do when you aren't in school or lucky enough to work with people around your own age. And if anyone is willing to talk to strangers to get the ball rolling- it's me!

So I will keep you all updated, and if any of you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know!  :)
